COVID Guidelines Update

Update May 15, 2021

In April, the Bethel Church council decided (in light of the full-scale availability of vaccines) to make the following changes to our COVID guidelines, effective June 1:

(a) resume all programs
(b) resume the serving of food and coffee after church
(c) make mask-wearing optional in our services

Earlier this week, the CDC revised its mask guidelines, and the Minnesota mask mandate has been lifted. So in light of these developments, we are moving up the changes to our masking guidelines. Starting THIS Sunday, May 16, we are making mask-wearing optional at Bethel programs. (The dates for other program changes will continue as planned). Please note that the CDC guidelines state that mask-wearing and social distancing are no longer required for people fully vaccinated. If you are not, then going mask-less is at your own risk.

Update: Late April 2021

Vaccines are now available for all adults in Minnesota. We encourage all those interested to get vaccinated, and will help anyone who wants to get vaccinated to do so. We hope people take advantage of this during the month of May, so that starting in June, we can:

  • resume all programs
  • resume the serving of food and coffee after church
  • make mask-wearing optional in our services

Update: March 2021

We continue to worship with the protocols outlined in our congregation letter from November 2020 — but with one change: we’re now open to having congregation members take off their masks while seated in the sanctuary (for prayer and sermon time). Entering and leaving the sanctuary, and especially during the singing time, we ask people wear their masks.
